Masterson’s Lounge, located in the heart of Moonee Ponds , markets itself as a trendy “hipster” hangout , but my most recent experience at this establishment quickly devolved into an unforgettable, terrible experience. While the bar may appear inviting from the outside , what I experienced behind its entrance was disgraceful and unfit for any venue.

The floors were sticky , and a pungent odor of uncleaned spills and dirty bathrooms polluted the entire pub. Smelling a mixture of excrement , a rotting odor and sour vomit . The bar area , which should be the centerpiece of any pub, was piled high with used mugs and litter that looked like it had been ignored for a long time . The restroom was in even a truly awful state—overflowing , with a snapped lever and walls covered in what I can only assume was fecal matter .

His presence at the bar often resembled that of a sweating predator than a friendly owner .
